This weekend we demoed our game at Deecon in Dundee. Deecon is an anime and art convention held every year which has recently been pushing to have more of an involvement with games. We were a part of their indie game showcase which got local developers to show off their games to the convention goers.
We were hiding in one of the corners of the Dundee Union building next to the artists and stalls. Though a little out the way we put up a couple posters walked around a bit and conversed so as to make sure everyone knew where to find the game. Once the word was out it wasn’t long till a steady stream of people were coming to our table.
This was a great opportunity to show off our new high score table and improved runner mode. Not too long into the games, the bugs we knew and hated were popping up. Almost none were game breaking but a couple were. Once the scores on the leader board were getting all fairly large it was taking more time for the reoccurring players as they were going for the top. It was enjoyable to see players spend time and not get bored of what we have so far.
The response we got was fantastic and we saw many people coming back multiple times to have another go or defend their high scores. The reception from both adults and children who played the game was very positive and it was good to see people of all ages having a good time and getting excited about the game.
