On the 27th of June we travelled up to Inverness to participate at Xpo North. As Mark I contributed to a team in the Moray game jam, we were invited to bring our team up which was a great pleasure. Unfortunately he became very ill on the days before leaving so we asked a close friend Marc to accompany us and help us out. The train journey was a long one and the weather was unbearably hot but nonetheless we were excited to show our game off to another, very different, crowd.
The first day was all about setting up the stand and preparing for the days ahead. We got to look at the other games on showcase and they got to view ours before the public came in. We were adding features throughout the day, cleaning up and polishing small things while we could.
The second day was the day the public came in to the exhibition. We were positioned right at the entrance so we got large crowds from the start. Many of the players were teenagers who took an interest in all things video games related and in Abertay University. The repeating players were against their friends, challenging to get the highscore. The competitive scoreboard and recent changes made to the endless mode helped to attract a good audience and we were proud of that.
The final day we were grateful to see the music shows and enjoy the weather before we headed back home.
Another great showcase!
